I was saved at age 15, but didn’t really know Jesus. If the road is so narrow, then no chance a sinner like me gets in, so why try? All that changed the second I held my first child, my son Grant. In an instant, I realized what God did for me, a sinner. He gave His perfect son for me? Yes, for me. I buried myself in the word, and let God speak directly to me about grace and mercy. My life was transformed.
As Grant grew older, and my faith grew stronger, I longed for a second child but feared I could not love as much or near enough. God, being God, opened my heart when I held my daughter Claire. I realized God’s love is never-ending; everlasting; and boundless. God loves every one of us the same…no matter. Claire has taught me to love compassionately, without limits. With my youngest Luke, I praise God for surprises and reminding me His plan is far greater than any I could imagine. Luke’s innocence and fearlessness inspire me. Fathers, we are truly blessed and this prayer is for you. God our Father, In your wisdom and love you made all things. Bless these men, that they may be strengthened as Christian fathers. Let the example of their faith and love shine forth. Grant that we, their sons and daughters, may honor them always with a spirit of profound respect. Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
