Remembering back to my youth, I often recall moments where my dreams of becoming an Air Force pilot, a preacher, a baseball player or a meteorologist filled my days and direction. Yet, none of these became the reality that I experience today as a believing son serving our community blended by my faith and family.
It is my pleasure to introduce you to a young lady with a similar experience, who started her career in insurance at the age of 16 working for a general insurance agency. Never in Monique Zinn’s wildest dreams, would she know what God’s plan was for her at this tender age. Starting out “under her mother’s wings”, Monique learned how to serve people and gain the technical knowledge of the insurance industry as she prepared for taking that “leap of faith” we all are called to at some point in our journey with Jesus. Monique spent many years in Albuquerque, New Mexico, honing her skills and growing as a child of God.
In 2004, her faith was tested as she fell in love with her fiancé, Ty, and had the opportunity to leave her comfort zone to move to San Antonio, Texas and start over. It was a tough first year, with many moments of doubt, fear and tears. Yet, through prayer and a strong belief in the Word, Monique prevailed with the strength and comfort of the Spirit guiding her. Amazing how her strong faith and many tests enabled her to persevere, resulting in the growth of her business. As Monique stated, “My faith drives me every day and each year things got a little better.”
Today, Monique has a thriving insurance agency specializing in customized individual and group health insurance benefit packages. Her desire to help people make the best decisions for themselves and their families crosses generation lines. She has expanded her practice to serve the elderly community in the areas of Long-term care, Medicare supplements and prescription drug plans.
The key to this success; her blended focus on faith and family as the enabler and foundation. God enables Monique’s business. She prays every day that he guides her to the people who need help in the areas she is gifted in. Monique also takes time to thank God for her health, her business, her assistant, her client’s wellbeing and her family. She also finds time to have fun, celebrate success and serve in the community such as with her favorite group, the Christian Business Chamber of Commerce. Monique demonstrates a solid commitment to put Jesus first by blending her life experiences, her family and faith into her calling; a leader in the Marketplace of our community. It is an honor to know her and I can vouch personally for her servant heart as she helps my family and new business choose the right health insurance products that will meet our needs.
