Published by Full Armor GroupThe Beacon is a monthly newspaper distributed free of charge at San Antonio and Hill Country Christian schools, businesses and churches. We are an independent publication, not owned or operated by or affiliated with any specific denomination or church.

The purpose of The Beacon is to encourage and strengthen San Antonio’s Christian community and to reach nonbelievers with the salvation message. We endeavor to honor God by spreading His Word, presenting the plan of salvation, and offering a resource for news of Christian events and activities in the San Antonio and hill country area. We seek to promote a spirit of unity among Christians of all denominational backgrounds.

Mission Statement The purpose of The Beacon is to share Faith, Family, Community, and to bring relevant articles and news to educate our purpose. We are the forum for community events, family-oriented activities, directories for local churches, businesses, schools, and camps, and classified ads for San Antonio and the surrounding area.

Editorial Policy

  1. The Beacon is a monthly newspaper distributed free of charge in and around the San Antonio area. The Beacon is an independent publication, not owned or operated by or affiliated with any specific denomination or church.
  2. The Beacon strives to provide a well-rounded, Christian perspective in each issue. As such, The Beacon reserves the right to refuse to print, at its sole discretion, any editorial, letter, advertisement, or other submission if the editorial board feels said piece contradicts with the mission of this newspaper.
  3. The Beacon welcomes letters to the editor from the community at large. All letters are subject to editing for clarity, grammar, and conciseness. Letters must be signed and a phone number must be included in order to facilitate confirmation of authorship. All letters become the property of The Beacon, therefore letters will not be returned to the writer. The Beacon reserves the right to refuse publication of any letter it deems harmful to the mission of this newspaper.
  4. Guest columns and articles are acceptable; however, they are subject to the conditions listed in item number three (3). As stated above, publication of submitted pieces is at the publisher’s sole discretion, and all submissions become property of The Beacon upon arrival in the newspaper office.
  5. Advertisements are welcomed in The Beacon. Advertisements that do not meet the stipulations of the mission of this newspaper are subject to rejection or redesign at the publisher’s judgment. Rejected advertisements will be refunded in full.
  6. Publication of any advertisement and/or editorial does not constitute, in any way, shape, or form, endorsement by either the publisher or editorial board, either explicit or inferred, of any opinion or product. All opinions reflected in any advertisement, column, or editorial are those of the advertiser or writer, respectively. Publication in The Beacon in no way guarantees validity of an advertisement, and The Beacon will not be held responsible in any way for failure or dissatisfaction with any advertised product or service.
  7. The Beacon is a monthly publication of the Full Armor Group. As such, Full Armor Group reserves the right to publish advertisements for clients, provided full disclosure is given in said advertisement.
